Ken Karcher

Ken Karcher is a former college and professional quarterback and football coach whose career has spanned the NFL, NFL Europe, and multiple levels of college and high school football. Known for his comprehensive knowledge of the game, Karcher has built a reputation for developing players (Whole Person Development) and leading programs (Model, Teach, Train, Mentor).
A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Karcher was a Parade All-American quarterback out of Shaler Area High School. He began his collegiate career at Notre Dame before transferring to Tulane University, where he completed his playing years and earned his bachelor's degree in 1986. Though undrafted, Karcher played professionally in the National Football League (NFL) with the Denver Broncos and was a backup quarterback on the Broncos team that played in Super Bowl XXII in 1988.
Karcher's transition to coaching in 1989 marked the beginning of a multi-decade career that has seen him serve in various roles across the United States and Europe. He held assistant coaching positions at several institutions, including Idaho State, North Texas, Pittsburgh (Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks Coach from 1993-1996), Toledo, and Eastern Michigan (Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks Coach from 2009-2012). Karcher coached in the World League and NFL Europe, for the Orlando Thunder and Rhein Fire, notably as the Offensive Coordinator/Quarterbacks Coach for the Rhein Fire, helping the team win the World Bowl in 1998. Karcher also spent 16 years as Head Coach for Liberty University from 2000 to 2005 and East Central CC from 2013 to 2022.
Karcher's extensive experience as a player and coach across different football leagues and environments highlights a career dedicated to both on-field performance and the development of young men off the field.
Currently, Karcher is the Founder/CEO for WIN Awakening, a non-profit sports ministry network for Coaches, Athletes, and those who Lead. He holds a Master's in Theology and Biblical Counseling. His passion is to help people W.I.N. and what it means to coach from the Kingdom, as they live from a place of VICTORY!
